When stray dogs are picked up by Grass Roots Rescue, they are held for the state-mandated stray hold, reported to the Office of Animal Welfare, posted to the State Lost and Found Pet Registry, scanned for a microchip, and provided veterinary care, if needed.
Once reunited, owners are required to pay $20 per day boarding fees, $75 if the dog is not fixed, and reimbursement to Grass Roots Rescue for any veterinary costs.
